Fresh Strawberries

/

I’ve used 2 different stamp sets to make this cute card. Both sets are oldies but goodies and no longer available. The Seed Packet image is called Seeds of Friendship and the Strawberry stamp are both from Flourishes.

I colored the image with copic markers and added it to a base card embossed with a swiss dot embossing folder.

A button and gingham ribbon finish it off.

Pinspired – Inspiration from the Scor-Pal Pinterest Board

Each month one of the members of the Scor-Pal design team looks back at Scor-Pal’s Pinterest page and recreates a project, using their own design.  This month it is my turn.  Looking through the Pinterest page, I found this lovely Z-fold Christmas card made by Lois Bak.

The design is simple yet elegant and can be used for any occasion.  I decided to go with a summer fruit theme and created this strawberry card.

Start with cardstock measuring 4.25 x 11.  On the long side score at 5.5 and 8.25

Fold and burnish on the score lines so they make a Z shape.

Attached decorative or stamped paper to the panels as shown.

Attach the focal panel to the front.

The Scor-Pal can be found HERE.

Scor-Tape can be found HERE.

The stamp is from I Brake For Stamps and was colored with copics. The diamond pattern stamp is from Papertrey and was stamped with Memento ink.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you find inspiration to make your own project!

I Brake For….Strawberries!

Hello my fellow stampers!  Is your summer being filled with  fresh from the garden vegetables and juicy sweet fresh fruit?  Even thought it is hotter than you know what here in Florida, I love the summer for all the great fresh produce.

So…how do you like some strawberries?

This wonderful stamp from I Brake For Stamps is called, of course, Strawberries and can be found here.  The image is wonderfully drawn with shading to help you when you color .  I stamped it with memento black ink and colored  it with copics.  Although I used 4 red copic markers on the berries it went really fast.  I added some highlights on the seed portions with a white pen.  (BTW, if anyone ever invents a white pen that doesn’t have to be constantly shaken  to work, or one that does not dry out after a few months they will end up being very rich!!)

I used a stitched rectangle die for the main piece, and a silhouette file  scalloped rectangle in the background.  Some patterned paper on the bottom was topped with a red gingham ribbon and green button.

On a personal note…we lived in California for many years before moving to Florida.  We were next to a city that was known for its strawberry fields and each year at harvest time, starting in March, you could buy flats of fresh, ready to eat strawberries direct from the farms at roadside stands for next to nothing.  It was wonderful!  We would have smoothies, shortcake, and all sorts of wonderful strawberry filled treats.  I do miss being able to get such a deal here where we live.

I hope you like the card and that you will hop on over to the IBFS store where you will find this and thousands of other stamps .  Use code SAVE10NANCY and get 10% off your order.
