Perfect Palette Heart Die

Hello crafters!  I hope the summer heat is not getting you down.  It’s a perfect time to stay in your air conditioned craft room and create!

Today’s card is simple, but a special one.  My husband and I are celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary today!  After all these years its hard to come up with new designs for my card to him, so I just went with a simple design, although this turned out different than my original intent.

I started with the Perfect Palette Heart Die from Lil Inkers.  I cut it out and was intending to use this pretty beach sunset as a background to show through the heart cut outs.

I lined up the die so that the sunset would show through the  bottom left heart.

Once I cut the sunset paper and started putting the card together, I just did not like the way it looked.  I tried different colored card stock, I was just not feeling it.  So I went in another direction.

I placed only nine of the hearts, lined them up on my mat so that they were even and used repositionable tape to hold them together.

Then I just transferred them to a white cardstock base, matted it with some purple cardstock and finished the card.   I’m happy with the final result – hearts and sunset!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
