Mini Halloween Treat boxes with Scor-Pal

Hello friend and happy October!! We are starting off the big holiday season of the year – it begins with all things fall, going into Halloween, Thanksgiving and the big one…Christmas!

Here in Florida the weather is still warm, but I have my fall decor out already. Our neighborhood does Halloween big time. We get over 200 kids trick or treating. One house has a Bounce House in the front yard, one house has fresh chocolate dipped marshmallows, and one has jello shots for the parents!! Many of our neighbors go all out on the Halloween decorations as well. We’ve never had any problems over the years.

So, today I am sharing with you a couple of cute mini treat boxes made with my Scor-Pal and Score-Tape.

Start by taking a piece of patterned paper sized 8.5 x 5.5 and score on the long side at 2:, 4: 6″ and 8″.

On the short side, score at 2″ and 4″.

Fold and burnish the score lines and cut the tabs as shown in the photo below.

Using Scor-Tape, assemble the box.

To complete the little boxes I used some circle die cuts and old stamps from Power Poppy.

Treat box with Scor-Pal

Hello crafters and welcome to February! I have a cute treat box you can make for Valentines Day.

This is for the Scor-Pal challenge this month – it is a “more than one score” challenge where you make anything that requires more than one score.

You can find the Scor-Pal HERE and Scor-Tape HERE.

I started with a sheet of patterned paper that was double sided -meaning patterns on both sides – measuring 12″ x 6″.

On the short side I scored at 1″ and 4.5″. On the long side I scored at 2″, 5.75″, 7.75″ and 11.5″.

I folded and burnished on all score lines and cut tabs as shown below.

Before you start adding scor-tape to assemble the box you will need to do two things”

First – fold over the top part – this is the 1″ section of the box. Then on the shorter side attach eyelets on the narrower sections – see photo below.

Once that is done, you can use score-tape to assemble the box and add ribbon through the eyelets.

For the front, I used a tag, banner, and heart die, along with an old stamp from Papertrey for a sentiment.

Halloween Treat box

Happy October crafters!! Is it Fall yet? Last week here in Florida we had temperatures in the 90’s, so an “iced” pumpkin spiced latte was more in line!

I have today a cute halloween treat box made with my Scor-Pal and Scor-tape.

It uses transparency film – sometimes known as window film, some halloween paper, stamps, ribbon and dies.

I started by taking a piece of clear film measuring 4 x 10 and scoring it on the long side at 2 3/8, 4 3/4, 7 1/4 and 9 5/8.

Fold and burnish on the score lines – this film was very thick and I really had to burnish well to get the folds. Then place score-tape on the smallest strip and make the box. It’s hard to see in the photo below!

To make the top and bottom take a piece of 4″ x 4″ patterned paper (this paper I purchased at Hobby Lobby years ago and I only use it at halloween so I expect it to last me for years!) and score at .75″ all around. Make two of these – one for the top and one for the bottom.

Cut the ends as shown below and add score-tape.

Attach the bottom to the box with score-tape, fill with treats, then add the top and some ribbon.

The stamp is from an old set from Power Poppy.

Tag Treat Box

Happy September everyone!! I have a cute treat box to share with you today…

I made this using my Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape, tag dies and some cute paper from a camping themed scrapbook pad.

First I cut out 4 tags using patterned paper. I cut out some embellishments from this particular camping themed paper to put on the front.

To make the box the right size I needed to measure the tag – which ended up being 2.75″ wide. From there I was able to calculate the dimensions needed.

I started with a piece of cardstock measuring 5 5/8″ square. I scored at 1.5″ on each side.

I burnished and cut the ends as shown below.

Then I added tape to the tabs and assembled the box.

Once the box was made I added the tags to each side and used some twine to tie the tops together.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy October!!

Happy October! Are you ready for halloween? I’ve put some decorations up around the house and I am getting ready for all the little goblins that will show up at my house at the end of the month.

Today I am showing you a cute treat box I made for the monthly Scor-Pal Challenge.

The Scor Pal design team loves showing our projects to you and now it’s your chance to show your creations to us!
This month we want to see your “Halloween or Harvest” creations.
As always we will have a theme that the Design Team will follow, and we would love you to follow too, but if you don’t want to you can do an “Anything Goes” creation as long as it follows the general rules
Each month we will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects. As well as the theme you will need to make “More Than One Score” and tell us where you used the Scor-Pal on your project. So a single fold card won’t count but an Easel, Gatefold, Stair Step, etc will. Also we love to see your “Anything But a Card” projects, just as long as you make “More Than One Score”
We have a ton of inspiration on our Projects on the Scor-Pal website and also on our Pinterest Board to get you eager to enter. You can find the details and inspiration on the Scor Pal blog here.

To make the box I started with a piece of purple paper measuring 6 x 4.25. I scored it at 1.5″ on all four sides. You can find the Scor-Pal here and Scor-tape here.

Cut the tabs as shown below.

Add score tape to the tabs and make the box.

I then cut two tags out of patterned paper and embellished the front of one of the tags with a stamp and some dies.

Then I added the tags to the box and finished it off with a ribbon.

I was able to fit 3 Fun Size Snickers bars in the box.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will check out all the Design teams creations this month and don’t forget to join in!

Valentine Treat Box – Scor-Pal

Happy February everybody!  I hope your winter is going well and not too cold.  This is the start of a new month and a new Scor-Pal challenge.

Each month the Scor-Pal blog will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects.
You can find the Scor-Pal here.

This month the theme is Valentines, or Anything Goes!  Check out all the details on the Scor-Pal blog here.

This month I created a cute Valentine Treat box that has a pinwheel top.

I started by taking a piece of patterned paper measuring 11.5 x 8.25 and scoring it on the long side at 2.75, 5.50, 8.25 and 11.

On the short side score at 2.75 and 5.50

Fold on all the score lines and make cuts as shown below.

Decide which end is going to be the top.  Then you are going to make a series of folds to make the pinwheel design.

First, fold the flap diagonally as shown below.

Next fold the corner up as follows:

Then tuck the fold you just did underneath.  Once this is done you can secure it with adhesive.

Your flaps should now look like this and will be the basis for the pinwheel.

Next assemble the box as you normally would.  To make the pinwheel top, just fold over each section – the last flap you will tuck inside.

To finish it off I just added some die cut hearts and an arrow.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you will check out all the projects on the Scor-Pal blog.

Mini Halloween Treat boxes

Hello October!!  Are you ready for Halloween?  I have a cute project to show you – it’s for the monthly Scor-Pal Challenge:  Halloween Treat Boxes!

Each month Scor-Pal will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects.
For October – the theme is Harvest/Halloween or Anything Goes – as long as it is “more than one score”.

I used some Halloween paper I picked up two years ago, my Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape, some die cuts, ribbons and tags.

The Scor-Pal can be found HERE, and Scor-Tape can be found HERE.

The top section takes a 6 x 6 piece of patterned paper and it is scored at 2″ on each side.

The bottom section is slightly smaller – 5 7/8 x 5 7/8 and is also scored at 2″ on each side.

The video below shows how I cut each section and put the box together.  I hope you will check it out!

Thanks for watching!

Mark’s Finest Papers January Release Day 3!

Hello! Welcome to Mark’s Finest Papers a Heinrich Company’s January Blog Hop!
This month’s New Stamp Set Releases are
Love Remains Featured January 17
Cowgirls Rule Featured January 18
Sending Happy Thoughts Featured January 19
You Are Cherished Featured January 20

Today’s blog hop features a wonderful postal set called Sending Happy Thoughts.  Instead of a card I chose to do a cute treat box – since next month is filled with events (Valentines Day, Mardi Gras, my husbands birthday) there will be plenty of opportunities to give out treats!

I made the box using a beautiful green linen cardstock from MFP called  August Greens Linen.   I love the look of linen  cardstock and the color went perfectly with the yellows of the black eyed susan image.

The image was stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and colored with copics, sponged with memento sky around the edges.   The “hello” sentiment is from the same set and stamped in black.  The background leaf image is from the Love Remains set released earlier this week and was stamped with memento new sprout ink.  The gorgeous yellow satin ribbon is called Bright Sunrise and is also available from Mark’s Finest papers.

Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets! Just comment on the following blogs (don’t forget this one), each day for more chances to win! (You do NOT have to comment on all the blogs each day! The names are drawn randomly!)We will announce all four winners on January 21, 2012 on the Mark’s Finest Papers blog. You can go back and comment if you missed a day. (HINT: The more you comment, the more chances you have to win!) The winners will be chosen at 11PM EST on Friday January 20, 2012.
