Embossed Valentine

Hello crafters! Are we ready for Valentine’s Day? Here is a quick card I made to get me gong. My husbands birthday is 9 days after Valentine’s Day, so I need two cards this month for him.

I started with a base white card which was embossed with an old Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Then I went to my stash of papers. I found some old Basic Grey patterned paper that I thought would work well for a valentine. I die cut a heart and added some pink twine. The sentiment is from an old Papertrey set.

Digi Daisy for Fall

Hello friends and happy fall!  Here in northwest Florida we have a different experience for fall.  The cooler weather does not hit until about November, so we are still seeing temperatures around 90 here.  It’s all ok though, pumpkin spice lattes  and all other thinks pumpkin flavored are readily available here!

I decided to take part in the Power Poppy Challenge, which is to create something with a pumpkin spice color theme.  Details here.

 

The Daisy image is a FREE digi from Power Poppy as part of their Kindness Is The Way digi set.  I believe it is still available as a free download.

I colored it with a bunch of prisma pencils in yellow, orange, browns and I think I may have used a mahogany color in there as well  The daisy was cut out and popped up on a piece of white card stock that was stamped using Memento cantaloupe ink and a Papertrey background stamp.  It is very light but gives just a touch of a pattern on the white paper.

I found some old Basic Grey patterned paper that had similar flowers on it along with the right colors.  The base card was embossd with a cuttlebug embossing folder – Oxford – and I just love that EF!

I Brake For…….. Kerr Jar

Hello my crafty friends!  I hope all is going well with you.  Are you ready for spring?  it is right around the corner and I can’t wait to see the pops of color as the flowers start to bloom.  We planted our annuals in the front last week and it was so nice to see something other than brown in the flower beds.

I have a wonderful spring like card to show you today.  A burst of color in some flowering blackberry /raspberry stems all delightfully placed in a Kerr mason jar:

It’s a wonderful image to color.  I used a mix of copics and prisma pencils for the coloring, sticking with purples and pinks.  The blackberries have a touch of green on them to show they are not quite ripe yet.  I used a pierced oval die for the main image and an EK Success punch for the scallop portion on the bottom.  The paper is from Basic Grey and I had to add a little bling with green rhinestones.

leaves

It’s “hot and humid” season here in Florida!  Time to stay in the air conditioning or head to the beach.  So, here in my craft room I want to cool down by coloring some fall leaves.  Here is my latest card..

 

The leaves are from Creative Visions called Two Leaves shown here.  They are beautifully drawn and nicely detailed.  I colored them with copic markers in shades of red/purple to coordinate with the basic grey paper.  The brad is from Nunn Designs.

petunias times two

Good morning crafty friends!  Are you enjoying your spring?  Everything is bursting with color here in north Florida.  The azaleas are blooming all around with shades of pink, purple and white.  We’ve been busy over the past month – planting a vegetable garden (tomatoes, peppers, lettuce and onions). We’ve also added a new weeping plum tree and two hydrangea bushes.  I am looking forward to watching everything grow.

Here are two springtime cards using a lovely Petunia stamp from Creative Visions (found here) – this red rubber image comes in two different sizes.

On this first card I embossed the image in white and sprayed colorwash inks to get a bright watercolor effect.  The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart.  The stitching on the white panel was done on my silhouette machine.

On the second card I take the same image and color it with prisma pencils and sponged with memento ink for the background.  The background paper is basic grey and the ribbon is from May Arts.

Good morning and I hope your Easter Sunday is glorious!  Here is an Easter card for you.

The image was stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and colored with prisma pencils.  And embossing folder was used to add some nice texture for the frame, basic grey paper and may arts ribbon finish it off.

This image is from Creative Vision stamps – called Easter Egg in grass –  and can be found here.  You get two sizes of this stamp – this is the smaller of the two.

Hello crafty friends!

We made it through last nights storm that rolled through the southeast.  We were kept awake by  1) the thunder, 2) the dog (who is terrified of thunderstorms and 3) the emergency alert radio that seemed to go off every hour telling us there are thunderstorms, severe thunderstorms, flooding, severe flooding, and tornado warnings.   While I am grateful that we have this emergency alert system and more so that we suffered no damage,  being woken up 5 times overnight for these alerts makes for a sleepless night.  I wish we could program the radio to let us know only that a tornado is in our area.

Anyway, putting aside the dreary weather I made this card to brighten up the day.  The image is from Power Poppy, the paper from Basic Grey’s Eva line.  It was colored with the following copic markers:  V01, V06, V09, YG91, YG93, YG95 and Y08.  Since the  “V” series markers are very vibrant I did a lot of “tip to tip” blending.

Of course, after I was done with the coloring I got the idea to “color” the Wonderful part of the sentiment with a copic marker and frankly ruined the card!!  Oh well!!

No fuss, no muss – just a quick and easy card for today!

The paper is from Basic Grey’s Green at Heart line.  The sentiment and die cut are from Papertrey.  The sentiment was stamped with Memento ink and looks like a better match for the backround paper IRL than in the photo.

bright poppies

I’ve always loved the bright colors of poppies.  When we lived in California each spring some of the hillsides would be covered with pretty orange poppy blooms and we would  drive up the coast to take in natures splendor.  Those orange poppies set against a bright green field of grass was so pretty, but many people know poppies only in bright red.  I made this card for a recent sketch challenge at SCS.

The poppy image is from Technique Tuesday and was colored with copics.  The designer paper is from Basic Grey’s Indian Summer line – my favorite line of from them.  I only have a few sheets left and will be sad when it is gone!  The sentiment is from Papertrey and both it and the poppy were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa.  The red cardstock is from Bazzill and the white from Neenah.

Hello friends!  I hope your week is starting off well. Summer is in full swing here..we have family coming in this weekend to spend a week with us and next week will be filled with lots of beach time.

This card was created for Impression Obsession’s Fly Away challenge – details shown HERE.

This clean and simple card uses three images from IO’s clear set #CL112 called Flowers.  It has several wonderful floral and leaf images.  I used one to make the butterfly!

First I stamped the two flower images on white cardstock and lightly colored with copic markers.  To make the butterfly, I stamped the image on a scrap piece of paper, colored it in and then cut it out.  By turning the image on its side I created a side view of the butterfly wings.   Here’s a look.

All I had to do was draw the body in with a black pen and I was good to go!  The sentiment was handwritten on a scrap of Basic Grey paper.  I think it’s nice to handwrite sometimes instead of using a stamped sentiment.

The base card was embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder.
