Sneek peak day 3 – release party tonight!

What could be easier?  A piece of perfectly sized designer paper, one sentiment stamp, cardstock and ribbon!  This card took less than 5 minutes to make – the hardest part was deciding which way to turn the designer paper!

The neutral colors set the tone  of stability and calmness- grey, black and cream – and I think they go well with the sentiment which is from Flourishes Timeless Quotes set – to be released tonight!.   It was stamped in palette noir ink, mounted on black card stock with a ribbon and popped up with foam tape. The designer paper is from the Jenni Bowlin collection – a darling collection of 4 inch square papers now available at Flourishes!  I love the look of square cards and these papers are the perfect size.  Flourishes has these papers in a packaged set with square envelopes – which are always so hard to find!

Check out the Flourishes Newsletter for the details on how you can win this set, and to see what the fabulous Flourishes Design team has created!

And don’t forget – tonight is the Flourishes release part at Splitcoast on the Flourishes Forum – from 8pm – 10pm eastern time!  Please join us for some fun, games, prizes and the big reveal!

Release week – day one!

sweet-pea-card-square1Ahhh – the sweet fragrance of the sweet pea!!  It’s probably my favorite in terms of fragrance, even better than a rose in my mind.  Marcella Hawley captures the delicate petals and beauty of this flower in this new set called, what else, Sweet Pea.    There’s this image, a bouquet, as well as a single bloom which was used for the background, and other images.

I stamped the image in palette noir and colored with blue, green and pink markers.  For an image this detailed, I color the leaves first, then the buds, then the blooms – it easier for me to distinquish the different images when I do it this way!  The background was stamped in versamark.

Once I finished coloring, I embossed the entire image in clear embossing powder to give it a tiled look and added ice blue rhinestones.  I tried some ribbon, but none seemed to work with the layout.

Now, for those of you who only thought that sweet peas were in shades of pink, red and purple, here is my color inspiration..

If you want a chance to win this set, go to the Flourishes Newsletter and follow the very simple directions!   And don’t forget to click the links of the Flourishes Design team for their creations with this pretty set!
