I made this card for today’s Featured Stamper challenge, which feature the work of Lori Craig. The rules – pick out one of her cards to case, but change at least two things and give credit for the inspiration.
I started with the rich and luscious Basic Grey paper from the Eva collection. The images – from the latest release from Flourishes called Home Tweet Home – were stamped and colored with Palette Inks – Burnt Umber, Landscape and Claret. The scalloped shape was cut using a Slice machine and sponged with eggplant ink.
Here is Lori’s card that provided the inspiration – as you can see I changed the color palette and stamps, but followed the basic sketch. Thanks Lori for providing a great card!
Today is the final sneak peek day! Tonight is the official Flourishes Release party where we will show all the three sets. Be sure to stop by the Flourishes Forum tonight at 7 pm eastern time and join in the fun!
This card features Chairs For You, a set created exclusively by Lauren Pope for Flourishes. Not only does it contain this cute image of three chairs and the sentiment shown, but six more stamps!
I started with Basic Grey Ambrosia papers – I love the combination of orange, gold and red against the grey. The images were stamped in palette noir black ink and colored with prismacolor pencils. A Martha Stewart edge punch created the punch out. And since lately I am using bling on just about everything – three red rhinestones were added!
Now – check out the Flourishes Newsletter today to see what the Design Team has created, to find out a little bit more about this set and , oh yes, a chance to WIN this set!!
Thanks for stopping by!!
After day 1 of the sneak peek everyone is buzzing about the next set and here is my card. Artist Marcella Hawley designed another winner for Flourishes don’t you think?
Basic Grey’s beautiful Sultry paper collection provided the background and also the color palette! The images were stamped with Palette inks – Burnt Umber, Chartreuse, and Claret. I cut out the birdhouse and popped it up. Apple Green Sheer ribbon was the final touch!
Please be sure to stop by the Flourishes Newsletter for links to the Design Teams sneak peeks and your chance to win the set!
Remember the Flourishes Release Party in this Friday, 7pm-9pm on the Flourishes Forum!
It’s s new year and we are mixing it up a bit with a new way of releasing Flourishes stamps. Instead of a full release on the second Wednesday each month, we’ll do a sneak peek on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, showing a different set each day on the Flourishes Newsletter, then on Friday night at the Flourishes Forum (between 7pm and 9pm eastern time) we’ll reveal all the sets.
Here is your chance to win the new sets…on each day of the sneak peek, go the the Flourishes Newsletter and make a comment on the post that gives the sneak peek. We’ll randomly select winners and announce them all on the Friday Night Release Party. We’ll also have prizes to give away during the release party so be sure to stop by!
Here is my sneak peek of the first set – this will give you an idea of the theme! I colored the cake with Palette inks – Claret and Noir Black. I really LOVE palette inks and am thrilled that Flourishes is carrying a nice selection of colors. The Claret color is a nice match for the rose paper. Cuttlebugs Swiss Dot embossing folder added a little texture to the back, and since I was going with dots, a sheer black dot ribbon was the perfect choice. It still needed a little bling, so I added three clear/silver rhinestones. I use a pair of tweezers to place the rhinestones from their package to the card.

We are 4 days away from the first Flourishes release of 2009 and these three stamp sets focus on all the things that matter most to us – celebrating a new home, another year, important annoucements and friends. And, when you see these three new sets, we are sure you’ll fall in love with all the ways you can use them!
To get ready, we thought we’d usher in a challenge. An “inspired by” challenge. All you need to do is find something in your home as a point of inspiration for a card creation or altered project and let those creative juices flow! Post a comment with a link on THIS Flourishes Newsletter post, or upload to Splitcoast using the key word – FLLCJAN. Use Flourishes stamps if you have them, or…if you don’t…join us anyway! We’d love to see what you cook up! Afterall, if your name is drawn- you’ll win ALL THREE of the stamp sets being released this month!
Here is my card – I was thinking about inspiration at breakfast the other day with my trusty coffee mug in hand and I thought since the first thing I do each morning is have coffee (and I MUST have coffee!), that it should be my source of inspiration!
I stamped the coffee cup, from Flourishes Coffee With Friends set, in moss on watercolor paper. The leaves and flowers are from Flourishes Fantasy Floral Garden set, stamped in rose. Small yellow/green rhinestones were placed in the center of the flowers.
The swirly thing was cut using my Slice machine. The background paper is from Basic Grey’s Two Scoops collection.
Here is a photo of my actual coffee mug, which served as my inspiration piece!
