Easy one-layer Christmas cards

It’s getting down to the wire with Christmas less than 3 weeks away.  My shopping is done and the house is decorated, but I am embarrassed to say that I only have a few cards made!  Here are two I put together quickly.  They are one layer cards, so no problem with mailing, and I used glitter to punch things up so they both have a nice holiday feel to them!

The card on the left was created using just two stamps – an image  from the Flourished Elements set and a sentiment from the Holiday Greetings set.  I used a glue pad to stamp the flourish on white cardstock and used Martha Stewart glitter – garnet for the color.  You can’t see how the glitter really shimmers but in looks great IRL!  The sentiment was stamped in Palette L’Amore Red because it went so well with the glitter.  Flourishes now carries a greater assortment of colors in the Palette Ink line  so you may want to check them out HERE.  I wrote over “Peace & Joy” with a stardust gel pen.

The card on the right was done in a similar manner.  The ornament is from the All That Glitters set and I used Martha Stewart glitter  – lapis lazuli color.  Again, I wish the glitter showed up better in the photo!    For this card I wanted the sentiment to be more glittery so I stamped with a glue pad and used MS glitter – yellow color.  Smaller letters don’t do very well with glitter and I think in the future I would just emboss the sentiment in gold.

Both cards are perfect if you need to do alot of cards quickly!

On Wednesday, Flourishes will be releasing three new sets – stay tuned and thanks for checking in!
