Color Challenge Tag Swap

Here is a tag I made for a monthly tag swap over at RubberStampChat.  It’s a monthly challenge designed to stretch your horizons in terms of color choices.  There are just a few swap rules – everyone uses the same size tag, don’t put anything through the hole at the top of the tag, and use the colors given for that month. There is no official color chart, so it’s up to you to interpret the colors.  I like the fact that it is a monthly swap challenge – it gives me time to think about what I want to do, play with some colors, and gives me a reason to shop!!

The colors for September were beach glass blue, water green, lime and white!  The blue, green and white were right up my alley, but lime?  That was going to  be the challenge for me until I found a Key Lime Twinkling H2O!

I started with a base tag made of ice white cardstock and carried the shimmery feel throughout the piece using Twinkling H2O’s.

Three colors of Twink’s  were brushed across a sheet of paper:  Sea Glass, Summer Breeze and Key Lime.  The sheet was then cut into tag shapes and stamped and embossed with the background image from Birds and VIne.  I used Brilliance White ink and Ranger seafoam embossing powder.  I love how the white looks against the shimmery colors.

Oval Nestabilities were used to cut the shapes.  The sentiment is from Sweet Treats and stamped in teal ink.

Thanks for stopping by!
