Celebrating Summer

It’s release day at Flourishes!  Three new sets celebrating summertime!  Today’s post will focus on Summer on the Patio a set that contains lots and lots of images.  The set is approximately 8 x 6 and includes tables, chairs, a chandelier, lots of images to put on the table and a pretty vase of summer flowers.

This first card uses icy white shimmery paper – hard to see in the photo, but it has a nice shimmer to it – instant glam!  I stamped Damask in Palette Noir ink on a piece of blue scrapbook paper, wrapped a black satin ribbon around it and mounted it on a black panel.  The chandelier and sentiment were stamped again in Palette Noir on the same shimmery paper.  It’s hard to tell from the photo but the candles on the chandelier and the ribbon have clear rhinestones – they look blue in the photo but are clear IRL.    This card came together very quickly!

I had so much fun making this next card – it was  a little more work but I love how it turned out!!  FIrst I stamped the lemon bowl and glasses on white card stock, then masked them using Eclipse Masking tape (one of the best things a stamper can have is Eclipse!) and stamped the table and chairs.  I drew a line about a third of the way up with a prisma pencil to add a “floor” and sponged blue around the images.  Summer Sun and Olive markers were used to add color to the main images.   Now, I never thought I would use the tiny oval scallop dies from my Nestabilities set, but here they are!!  The two smallest sizes were used to “name” my little cafe.  The polka dot paper is from Making Memories and the green and yellow are from DCWV.   I used fiskars scissors to make the scalloped edges and just scored the paper to make the fold.

Here is what the entire stamp set looks like.  Thanks for stopping by!

Two great cards for this release. I really like them both, but the cafe look is just darling!

Wow, can I come to your cafe? I just love how you have showen this set to it’s best advantage. The awning really showcases the table and chairs, how chic! Ready for a cool glass of lemonade anyone?
